At Historical Soundscapes (c. 1200-c. 1800), our objective is to facilitate access to and dissemination of knowledge about the soundscapes of the past. To this end, we have adopted the Open Archives Initiative (OAI), a standard that enables interoperability between digital platforms and easy access to shared resources.

OAI employs an efficient protocol and the Dublin Core metadata schema (ISO 15836), which describes information in a flexible and standardised way. This guarantees that project data can be readily accessed and reused in different digital contexts, thereby increasing the visibility and reach of our content.
